The Grand Uddhav Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Grand Uddhav in New Delhi‘s bustling Paharganj district, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical backpacker crash pad. Sure, it’s a three-star property in one of the city’s most chaotic neighborhoods, but there’s something refreshingly polished about the place. The lobby actually feels calm despite being right in the heart of all that Nehru Bazar madness outside — and trust me, that’s no small feat when you’re literally surrounded by some of the most intense street energy Delhi has to offer.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, Paharganj gets a bad rap from some travelers, but I think they’re missing the point entirely. Yes, it’s intense and crowded, but you’re also steps away from New Delhi Railway Station and incredibly well-connected to everything that matters. The couples who stay here seem to get it — they’ve rated the location 8.8, which tells you something about how convenient this spot really is. You can walk to Connaught Place in about 20 minutes, catch the metro easily, and you’re surrounded by authentic street food that’ll cost you practically nothing.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was honestly better than I expected for this price point in central Delhi. Clean, well-maintained, and — here’s the thing that surprised me — actually quiet despite being in the middle of all that street chaos. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in Delhi), and the bathroom was spotless. I mean, you’re not getting marble countertops or anything fancy, but everything functions exactly as it should, which is really what you want when you’re exploring the city all day.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The breakfast setup here is pretty solid — they do a proper vegetarian buffet that actually caters to both Indian and international tastes. You know what I really appreciated though? The free private parking situation. If you’re planning to rent a car or have someone picking you up, that’s genuinely valuable in this part of Delhi where finding secure parking can be a real headache. Most hotels in Paharganj either don’t offer it or charge extra, so this feels like a genuine bonus.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this place works because it strikes that sweet spot between affordability and actual comfort. You’re getting recent guests rating it 8.5 overall, which is pretty impressive for a mid-range hotel in such a central location. The staff seems to understand that most people staying here want to experience real Delhi — they’re helpful with directions and recommendations without being pushy. It’s the kind of place where you can decompress after a long day of navigating Old Delhi’s markets or exploring Red Fort, but you’re not paying premium prices for amenities you probably won’t use anyway.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Delhi before cricket finals fill stadiums and traffic corridors.

Nice stay . Polite staff.
What could be improved: It was clean in general , it seemed like the toilet could have been more cleaner . For the amenities provided i think the price was too high. The room was a bit small. The location was inside a market so transport was a bit difficult.Masover from Spain – 5 March 2025 (8/10)
Staff very attentive and helpful to all the needs. Aarish was very caring to all our needs, very prone to help in everything! Food in the terrace was very good and very quick! Also the location is perfect, in the middle of Pahar Ganj, but yet in a calm side street.
What could be improved: The only thing was the toilet in the room, which appeared very dirty, yet from the last occupation of the room.Pritesh from India – 3 March 2025 (9/10)

Great friendly and helpful Staff, easy 24/7 check in / check out. Very clean rooms, hot water in the shower at all times, cots beds. Great location in the middle of old Delhi in a lovely busy small street, some good restaurants close by, during night is quite. The Hotel is only a few minutes by foot from Delhi Station. There's a terrace as well, where they serve breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening. Absolutely recommend this place
