  Jyoti Mahal has been a favourite of ours for many years. We have enjoyed the kinky charm, the old world beauty of the rooms, and the relaxing rooftop eating.
  
  What could be improved: This time we were very disappointed. Our email accepting the hotel’s offer of a taxi pickup from the airport was not answered and there was no hotel taxi on our arrival at 3.30am. At check in a marginal documentation issue for one of our party was dealt with in an unfriendly, unhelpful and obstinate way., and overnight accommodation was refused. We have had no such trouble in any other hotel in India. The hot water supply was poor – it required a staff member to run two large buckets of wasted water to get anything from the taps, still not hot. Finally, with food now served in bain-maries , the otherwise lovely rooftop eating area has lost some of its charm.

  Good place to stay in Delhi. Close to center and old town. Hotel looks beautiful, rooms included! Staff was helpful, especially the security man was very kind.
  
  What could be improved: There were some things that needed upkeep/maintenance: e.g. toilet not flushing well, mattress was quite uncomfortable (you could feel the mattress springs)

  Good localisation – near Railway Station, but quite aside, on smaller street. Unique interiors. Really nice restaurant on roof top, tasty food a'la carte.
  Room was pretty and comfortable, bathroom was spacious.

  Lovely rooftop Restaurant away from busy streets
  Located in nice quieter street but still can see life on the streets to give flavour of Indian way of life.
