Villa 33 Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Villa 33, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a three-star property tucked away in Hauz Khas. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries come in unassuming packages. This boutique guesthouse sits quietly in Safdarjung Development Area, and there’s something refreshingly genuine about its understated charm. The building itself has that classic Delhi residential feel — nothing flashy, but clean and welcoming in a way that immediately puts you at ease. The attention to detail in maintaining the property speaks volumes about the management’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s the thing about staying in Hauz Khas — you’re right in the sweet spot between old and new Delhi. I mean, you can walk to the medieval Hauz Khas Village (the trendy one with all the cafes and boutiques) in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the broader city. The metro connectivity is solid, and honestly, having free parking on-site is a game-changer if you’re planning to rent a car. I’ve stayed in fancier neighborhoods where finding a parking spot becomes a daily nightmare, so this was actually a relief. The surrounding area offers excellent access to both historical monuments and contemporary entertainment venues.
The Room Experience
My room was compact but thoughtfully arranged — you can tell someone actually considered how travelers use the space. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in Delhi’s heat), and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for this price range. What I appreciated most was the attention to cleanliness and the little touches like decent lighting for reading. The bathroom was small but functional, with hot water that actually stayed hot throughout my shower. It’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works as it should. The furnishings are practical and well-maintained throughout.
Breakfast and Daily Rhythms
The breakfast spread covers all the basics — continental options alongside proper Indian dishes and vegetarian choices. I found myself looking forward to the fresh parathas and the way they prepared their chai. The restaurant area doubles as a common space, and I actually enjoyed chatting with other guests over morning coffee. The staff seems to genuinely care about getting your day started right, which matters more than fancy presentation when you’re dealing with Delhi’s intensity. The quality of ingredients and preparation reflects a genuine commitment to guest experience.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.1 rating isn’t an accident — Villa 33 delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. Couples especially seem to appreciate the peaceful vibe and the fact that you can actually relax here after long days of sightseeing. The location score of 9.6 makes perfect sense once you realize how easy it is to reach both the historical sites and the modern shopping areas. For the price point, you’re getting reliable comfort, helpful service, and a base that actually enhances your Delhi experience rather than just providing a place to sleep. This property represents genuine value for discerning travelers seeking authentic hospitality.

Kind of family atmosphere at breakfast, good conversation and advice about best way to see city.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Just a magic stop over.
The facilities next to the hotel were very good and it felt safe moving around, using local transport or taxes arranged by the hotel.
What could be improved: All was good.Victor from Israel – 13 April 2025 (10/10)

I had the pleasure to be hosted by a friend of the owner, she was a lovely lady who was always willing to help you with everything. The location, bed, bathroom and everything is incredibly clean and nice. The place seems like a castle but feels like a home as you have breakfast all together. It was a really magical experience, if I ever come back to Delhi I will stay here again without a doubt.

This is a beautiful place to stay in a really calm, interesting part of Delhi. We just stayed here one night as a stop gap before flying out of Delhi but I’d definitely recommend as a good base for a few days exploring the city if you are looking for somewhere quieter. It’s in walking distance to Hauz Khas village which has some nice restaurants. While we were here unfortunately my partner got sick and so we weren’t able to go out for dinner. The owner generously provided a complimentary meal for me which was actually one of the tastiest homestay meals of our trip!

Villa 33 is a lovely villa in a nice area of Delhi. My room was spacious and well furnished with a nice bathroom and excellent air conditioning. The villa is situated at the end of a quiet road within walking distance of Hauz Khas village and other bars and restaurants. The owner Anil is a gracious host. A car can be arranged with a driver to take you around the sites of Delhi for a very reasonable price.

Best part was the delicious breakfast around the big table with the caretaker, Jana, and the other guests. Great location, quiet, easy walking distance to cafes and a park. Spacious room and bathroom.

Christina from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (8/10)
We had a lovely welcome into the b&b on arrival. Great explanation of the local area, which is very close to the SDA market. The place is so quiet compared to the usual noise and business of Delhi. It's very safe. We had a lovely big room with a fan and air con and a good variety at breakfast.
What could be improved: The shower area was quite poorly maintained and the shower didn't run hot water. However a cool shower was ok!Dhiri from Australia – 25 March 2025 (8/10)
Great experience, the host and the staff were very helpful. The options for breakfast were great..just felt like home. Will definitely come back again.
James from United Kingdom – 24 March 2025 (8/10)
Great location and very peaceful. Breakfast was delicious. Our host was approchable and helpful with ideas of things to see and do.
What could be improved: Couldnt find a safe in our room for passports or money. You cant book train travel through them which can become a little difficult for foreigners in delhi.
