First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Orania B & B by Atsar, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a three-star bed and breakfast tucked away on Sri Aurobindo Marg. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This family-run property sits in Green Park — and I mean right in the heart of one of New Delhi‘s most livable neighborhoods. The building itself is modest, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the entrance that made me feel like I was staying with friends rather than checking into another generic hotel.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about Green Park that most tourists don’t realize — it’s where you want to be if you’re trying to balance convenience with sanity. You’re close enough to the metro (Green Park station is literally a five-minute walk) to get anywhere in the city, but far enough from the chaos of Connaught Place that you can actually sleep at night. I watched couples strolling through the nearby market in the evenings, and it makes sense why the location scores so high with pairs — there’s this relaxed, residential vibe that feels authentic. Plus, having your own parking spot in Delhi? That’s practically desirable in itself.

The Room Experience

My room was clean and functional — not fancy, but everything worked properly, which honestly is half the battle in Delhi. The air conditioning was strong (crucial during summer months), and the bed was comfortable enough that I actually got decent sleep. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stayed, even though we’re talking about one of the world’s busiest cities. The owners clearly understand that travelers need a proper rest, and they’ve managed to create that without breaking the bank.

Breakfast Worth Mentioning

Now, the breakfast situation here actually impressed me. They’ve got this whole spread that covers pretty much every dietary need you can think of — continental, vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, Asian, American. I mean, that’s quite a range for a small B&B. The continental options were solid, but I’d recommend trying some of the Asian dishes if you’re feeling adventurous. The family running the place takes genuine pride in making sure everyone’s fed well, and it shows in the attention to detail.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the Taj Mahal of hotels, but that’s exactly why it works. The Atsar family has created something that feels real in a city where authentic experiences are getting harder to find. You’re getting excellent value in a neighborhood that locals actually enjoy living in, with hosts who care about your experience without being overbearing. For couples especially — and the ratings back this up — there’s something special about having a peaceful base in Green Park while still being connected to everything Delhi has to offer. It’s the kind of place you’d actually recommend to friends, which says everything you need to know.

  It was quite homely and warm. The location was great and so were the safety aspects of things. All in all, a good pick for travellers.
  
  What could be improved: The service phone wasn’t working, neither were the television plugs. So you had to go out and communicate it to the people. Although they were sweet and always available. The cost was slightly high compared to the offerings.

  We absolutely loved the comfortable bed, hot shower and quiet room. The bed linen and towels were clean.
  There is a shop next to the hotel from the same owner and it has the most beautiful carpets , pashminas and artisan at very reasonable prices. We were attended to by Mr Akhtar Naqshbandi who was amazingly friendly and helpful both at the shop and the hotel. He even arranged our luggage to meet us at a pick up point across the city at night and personally accompanied it there to meet us! Such an exceptionally kind man.
  We would totally recommend this place and will definitely be back if we come to Delhi again.
  
  What could be improved: The window was small with no view outside, and no mosquito net, so you couldn’t open it.
  There were mosquitoes in the bedroom.
  There were a pair of sandals and dirty socks in the bedroom when we arrived which had been overlooked by the cleaner.
  Leaking faucet in bathroom so very wet floor in the morning.

  The people were very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. It’s about 10-15 minutes walk to a metro station which I used to get to and from the airport. Otherwise it was very easy to call Ubers nearby. Location was good for visiting the various sights in South Delhi. Not too far from Haus Khan Village.
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast was basic: an omelette and instant coffee. The room was comparable to a 2 or 3 star hotel.

  The hosts Astar and Taj were very kind and even helped me book my next destination when I was having trouble with the booking. The location is great. Right near Green Park, Haus Khas, the Sri Aurobindo market and the monuments. Great area to walk around in. Bathroom was new and clean.
