On The House Boutique B&B Overview
First Impressions
Walking into On The House Boutique B&B, you immediately get that “someone actually cares about this place” feeling. It’s tucked away in Safdarjung Enclave, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that feels more residential than touristy — and that’s exactly what makes it work. The whole vibe is intimate and personal, like staying at a well-traveled friend’s house rather than just another three-star hotel in New Delhi.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Safdarjung Enclave is actually a pretty smart choice if you want to experience Delhi without the complete chaos of the main tourist areas. You’re close enough to everything that matters — I mean, you can get to India Gate or Connaught Place without too much hassle — but you’re staying somewhere that feels like real Delhi life happens around you. There’s decent parking here too, which anyone who’s driven in Delhi will tell you is basically a miracle. The area has that tree-lined, slightly quieter feel that couples seem to really appreciate (and the ratings back that up).
What Makes It Special
The boutique aspect isn’t just marketing speak here — each room actually feels different, with thoughtful touches that suggest someone put real effort into the design. The B&B format means you’re getting a more personal experience than you’d find at larger hotels, and the staff genuinely seems to know guests by name after a day or two. What I really appreciated was how they handle the breakfast situation — it’s not a massive buffet, but what they do make is fresh and actually good, with both Indian and continental options that don’t feel like afterthoughts.
The Practical Stuff
Look, a 7.4 rating tells you this isn’t perfection, but it’s solid and reliable. The rooms are clean and comfortable without being fancy, and honestly, that’s exactly what you want when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway. The location really is the star here — recent guests keep mentioning how easy it is to get around from this spot, and after staying there, I get why. You’re not paying premium prices for a central location, but you’re still well-connected to where you want to go.
Why Guests Love It
The whole experience feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find in Delhi’s hotel scene. It’s particularly popular with couples, and I think that’s because it strikes this nice balance between being intimate without being overly romantic or trying too hard. You get personal attention, a genuine neighborhood feel, and a base that actually works for exploring the city. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like it was created by people who actually understand what travelers want, rather than what some corporate manual says they should want.

Reviews of On The House Boutique B&B
Flordeliza from Philippines – 5 February 2025 (6/10)
The house is beautifully decorated with good crokery furniture and fixtures, literally like a boutique or museum
What could be improved: its is located on the 2nd floor with stiff stairs going up.. no elevators
we found it so inconveniet to carry our luggages and things upstairs, small and stiff stairs for oldies like us are not convenient
when we arrived at the place no one was there.. only a boy names Raju assisted us ..nobody to ask coz the owner or manager was out of station
i booked a room for 2 pax, the one i tales to said only booked for 1 pax and was asked to pay for extra pax… weird that the room was double and we did not take breakfast because she said cook was on leaveTanushree from United States – 28 January 2025 (8/10)
Excellent, beautiful rooms. The breakfast was lovely and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort.
What could be improved: The property requires maintenance. The ceiling paint in the bathroom is chipping and falls while you’re in the shower. I also spotted a small cockroach in the room.
I also had a bit of trouble with the staff talking loudly post 10 pm right outside the room.Jim from Mexico – 10 February 2024 (6/10)
What could be improved: It looks wonderful but there is so much stuff everywhere that there is no room to put one’s own things.
Sandeep from United Kingdom – 6 November 2023 (7/10)
The aesthetics – the house was beautifully set up, as evidenced from the images. The location was great too – very central but still away from the noise.
What could be improved: The room wasnt cleaned when we got in with the fridge being particularly disgusting. The staff was also hit and miss – at times they seemed pleasant, at others they couldn't care less. The wifi connectivity was also poor.Charles from New Zealand – 29 October 2023 (8/10)
Easy access to airport. Quiet location.
What could be improved: The tables and surfaces in the common areas need a good dust.Tess from Belgium – 18 July 2023 (6/10)
I really liked the interior of the rooms, it made it very cosy.
We never saw the owner but via whatsapp she helped us out with the booking of traintickets. She was very helpful.
What could be improved: The accomodation is a lot older than we had expected. The airco, the fan and the fridge were really loud. You need earplugs to sleep. After this stay we stayed in much cheaper hotels that had way better facilities.Nazia from Bangladesh – 7 February 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: Should have keep a hair dryer for the guest.
Sameer from Kenya – 6 January 2023 (7/10)
Lovely place, very home like. Would 100% stay again.
Raghav from India – 30 June 2022 (6/10)
The owner was responsive.
Location is good.
We had to leave early and didn’t wait for the breakfast.
What could be improved: The room is overloaded with curios, paintings and art work which makes it a little claustrophobic. Also, the room & carpets need to be aired to make the room fresh.
Air conditioners didn’t provide sufficient cooling but that could be because of the summer heat.Joseph from India – 9 June 2022 (6/10)
Ok ok food and clean room , good location
