Walking into Lutyens Bungalow feels like stepping into someone’s incredibly well-appointed private residence rather than a typical hotel. This four-star property sits in one of New Delhi’s most coveted neighborhoods, and you can tell immediately that it’s something special. The colonial-era architecture has been preserved beautifully — I mean, you’re literally staying in a piece of Delhi’s history here. The staff greets you with that perfect balance of professionalism and warmth that makes you feel like a welcomed houseguest rather than just another check-in.

The location is honestly what sets Lutyens Bungalow apart from everything else in the city. You’re right in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi, surrounded by tree-lined avenues and within walking distance of India Gate and the government quarter. What I love about this area is how quiet it feels despite being so central — it’s like finding a peaceful oasis in the middle of Delhi’s beautiful chaos. The neighborhood has this old-world charm with wide roads and plenty of greenery, which is pretty rare in the capital. You can actually take evening strolls here, something that’s not always possible in other parts of the city.

The Rooms

Each room feels like it’s been individually designed rather than stamped out from some corporate template. The interiors blend colonial elegance with modern comfort — think high ceilings, period furniture, and contemporary amenities that actually work properly. The beds are genuinely comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and the bathrooms are spacious with excellent water pressure. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — proper reading lights, enough power outlets, and blackout curtains that actually block out the light.

Breakfast and Dining

The breakfast spread here is something else entirely. They’ve got this fantastic buffet setup that covers everything from continental classics to proper Indian breakfast options and Asian dishes. The vegetarian selection is particularly impressive — this is Delhi, after all, where vegetarian food is taken seriously. I found myself going back for seconds of their parathas and the fresh fruit selection. The dining area has this lovely garden view, so you’re not stuck eating in some windowless hotel restaurant. They also accommodate dietary restrictions without making a big fuss about it, which is always appreciated.

Honestly, it’s the combination of location, character, and genuine hospitality that makes Lutyens Bungalow work so well. The free parking is a huge bonus in a city where finding a safe spot for your car can be a nightmare. Couples seem to particularly love this place — and I can see why, given the romantic colonial setting and peaceful surroundings. It’s one of those rare hotels where you feel like you’re experiencing the real Delhi while still having all the comforts you need.   Excellent people there…… It makes you feel home away from home…. The Location is simply GREAT!!!!! and so are the hosts.

  I like all, everything was perfect! its a family boutique hotel and the owners and staff are very nice. They help and welcome you anytime. They understand everything you needed to improve and enjoy your stay. The rooms are beautiful decorated, super clean European style, mattress comfortable, hot water running well, all details in the rooms are perfect! Also you have breakfast is great, the option to have a delicious dinner with others travelers and have nice chat or enjoy the beautiful garden and peaceful, everything is caring with love.
  You have swimming pool and garden area to read a book, meditate, yoga and feel peacefully. Very good situation, close to Lori gardens and Khan Market, few minutes walk, nice area. Close to airport and close to city if you would like enjoy in Delhi and feel like home, highly recommended. Definitely, I will return anytime I will go to Delhi.

  Lutyens Bungalow is a true oasis in the middle of the busy New Delhi. The large garden with parrots and tastefully furnished rooms made for a wonderful stay. We enjoyed it here so much we actually came back after our trip to Jaipur and stayed a few extra nights. The staff is very friendly and everyone made sure we had all we needed. There is always someone at the gate so that the guests feel safe day and night. We would definitely come back again 🙂

  The people who run the property make you feel right at home; their friendliness & warmth is amazing. Add to that a fantastic location right in the heart of Lutyens is exceptional. Definitely my go to whenever I'm in Delhi again. Better in my opinion than Taj & Oberoi!
