First Impressions

Walking into Hotel Elegance on Arakashan Road, you immediately get the sense that this three-star property punches above its weight. I mean, the lobby isn’t going to blow you away with marble floors or chandeliers, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which honestly surprised me — you don’t always get that personal touch in New Delhi, especially in this price range.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Paharganj — it’s chaotic, loud, and absolutely perfect if you want to dive headfirst into real Delhi life. You’re literally a five-minute walk from New Delhi Railway Station, which sounds terrible until you realize how incredibly useful that is. The main bazaar runs right nearby, so you’ll hear the sounds of street vendors and auto-rickshaws pretty much constantly. Couples seem to love exploring the area together — apparently they rate the location super highly, and I can see why. There’s this energy here that you just don’t get in the fancier neighborhoods, plus everything is walkable.

The Room Experience

My room was clean and functional — not Instagram-worthy, but honestly comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. The air conditioning works well (crucial in Delhi heat), and you get a decent-sized window that actually opens. The bathroom is compact but has hot water consistently, which is more important than it sounds. What I appreciated most was the free private parking — if you’re brave enough to drive in Delhi traffic, you’ll understand what a relief it is to have a guaranteed spot.

Food & Breakfast

You know what really surprised me? The food here is actually worth talking about. The restaurant serves both Continental and vegetarian options for breakfast, and they do a particularly good job with the Indian dishes. I ended up eating dinner there a couple of times because, well, it was genuinely tasty and the prices were reasonable. The continental breakfast isn’t going to win any awards, but the local options — especially the parathas and chai — are spot on.

You’re getting solid value in a neighborhood that gives you authentic Delhi vibes without completely breaking the bank. The location means you can walk to the main sights or catch transport anywhere in the city without much hassle. Plus, the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable — they’ll help you figure out the metro system or recommend local places that tourists usually miss. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than in a tourist bubble.
